Veg. Hakka Noodles in 3 Steps


Veg. Hakka Chow Mein is a Indo-Chinese dish which is popular in all over the world these days. Everyone including kids love this recipe. It is nutritious for kids as they easily eat veggies with it which otherwise they always makes excuses for. This recipe for Veg. Hakka Chow Mein or Noodles is very easy and consists of only 3 steps: Boil the noodles, sauté the veggies and assemble with veggies. You can also eat these Noodles with the combination Veg. Manchurian. 

Time Duration: 

Prep. time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes

Ingredients: 

4 pieces of noodles
4 tbsp.of oil ( divided)
2 tsp.of garlic
1/4 cup of cabbage ( finely sliced)
1/4 cup of carrots (finely sliced)
1/4 cup of onions (finely sliced)
Salt to taste
3 tbsp.of ketchup
2 tbsp.of Sriracha red chilli sauce( any chilli sauce)
3 tbsp.of Soya Sauce
1 tbsp.of vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar)

You can use any veggies of your choice.

Recipe for Veg.Hakka Chow Mein/ Noodles:

  • First boil the noodles for 5 minutes by adding 1 tbsp.of Oil and little bit of salt in it.
  • Check if they are cooked, drain the water and add cold water in the noodles and drain all the water again.
  • Keep them aside
  • Put oil in a pan and add garlic into it.
  • Now add onions , sauté for 1 minute.
  • Add all the veggies and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add noodles in it and keep sautéing.
  • Next add all the sauces and pinch of salt.
  • Sauté nicely to mix everything well.
  • Your Hakka Noodles are done.
  • Garnish with spring onions.
  • Enjoy !

Quick Tips:

  1. Do not add too much salt in Noodles while sautéing because all the sauces already have salt in them.
  2. Do not over cook the noodles or veggies as it won’t taste good.
  3. Always add oil while boiling the Noodles, they won’t be sticky this way.
